Improved oil in water measurements.
Significant steps have been taken to improve oil in water measurements. These systems from Advanced Sensors have been able to operate in hazardous areas for many years with zero maintenance.
Similar to the EX-100 and EX-1000, these systems use a laser induced UV fluorescence technique to monitor trace levels of oil in water. The EX-100P monitors the total fluorescence, while the EX-1000P provides an integral spectrometer to identify different oil contaminants or hydrocarbon liquids. Both systems can monitor from low ppb to 20,000 ppm, and are well suited to monitoring water pollution prior to discharge or re-injection. These versions of the analyser continuously measure a sample stream, with a probe inserted directly into a main process line. A variety of pressure rated flanges are available. The probe may be inserted directly into the process line without flow conditioning or flow control, and is recommended for applications where rapid oil trending information is required.
The use of an automatic ultrasonic cleaning method allows the EX-100P to provide reliable and accurate measurements for many years without requiring maintenance or consumables, making the operating costs for these systems extremely low. Many users have reported zero maintenance over several years.
