Carbon dioxide measurement
Carbon dioxide (CO2) exists in the atmosphere normally at around 400ppmv (0.04%). However, when in confined space without effective ventilation, CO2 can rise to dangerous levels. The initial response of humans when CO2 levels begin to rise is to lose concentration and to feel tired. Instances where CO2 can rise to quite high level e.g. beer cellars and areas around CO2 cylinders (including soft drinks machines) are key areas that should be monitored for CO2 leaks.
The CF5 is available in two configurations. The CF5-W is designed for wall mounting in rooms or areas that require CO2 monitoring. The CF5-D is designed for insertion into a ventilation duct or vent. Both units provide a current or voltage output and have an optional display of the CO2 measured value.
With a range of 0 to 2000 ppmv, the CF5 alerts personnel to high CO2 levels. The use of a non-dispersive infra-red sensor (NDIR) offers high precision and low maintenance with a sensor life expected to be in excess of 15 years. The automatic baseline correction means that no further calibration is required if the systems are installed in indoor applications.
