Natural Gas Measurement
Natural gas quality - gas analysis for constituents and contaminants.
Natural gas quality is an important factor. There are several gas phase species that make a safety related measurement: hydrogen sulphide; carbon dioxide; oxygen and water vapour.
The constituents of natural gas, particularly C1 to C12+, CO2 and N2, substantially affect the calorific value, compression and other key parameters such as hydrocarbon and water dew point. Hydrogen sulphide (H2S) is a toxic and corrosive gas where safety limits are set for pipeline entry. Using an ultra-fast GC to monitor the extended natural gas components can offer a number of benefits.
