Paper and Board Measurement

Paper and board measurements.

Paper and paper products are very hygroscopic: they readily absorb water vapour. The amount of water absorbed (or desorbed) depends on temperature and humidity of the environment in which they are stored. Dimensional defects such as curling and warping can occur if products are not uniformly dried. Problems can occur if paper products are produced and stored in environments that are too dry just as much as too wet.

Systems described here can determine moisture in the paper or board directly, or the humidity and temperature measurement of the environment around the paper product.
